Grove City Could Be Home To New Mini Casino

Grove City Could Be Home To New Mini Casino.

Last week, Mt. Airy Casino Resort, headquartered in Mount Pocono, Monroe County, placed a bid of $21,188,888.88 to win the license to build a mini-casino. At the same time, the company named a location in Hickory Township, Lawrence County according to state records and the New Castle News.

Under state law, Mt. Airy can build its casino anywhere within a 15-mile radius of the declared map coordinates. That circle takes in almost all of Lawrence County, a small part of Beaver County, some of Butler County and much of southeastern Mercer County.

The Mercer County portion includes all of Springfield Township and the area around Grove City Premium Outlets and the borough of Mercer.

Previously we reported that Grove City Chamber of commerce has met with an undisclosed company which were now told was the Mt. Ariy group who owns a resort and casino in Eastern Pennsylvania.
